How come you came to join us?
I transferred to Arkom in January 2015 to complete my apprenticeship with 3aaa after hearing about the work ethos and looking for areas more specific to what I enjoy doing.

I have found myself in a place of work where I feel comfortable working as part of a team, discussing projects and liaising with clients for close customer relationships.

What were the benefits of completing an apprenticeship here at Arkom?
Arkom take a trickle feed approach with their apprenticeships, giving you parts of projects to handle, learn and improve upon. It meant that I could become more involved with the work giving me some great insights and information on the inner workings of parts of my role

What would be your advice to other people looking for an apprenticeship?
If I had to give advice to anyone in an apprentice positon it is you should enjoy what you do, work hard to improve yourself in and outside of that role and always ask help from others.

What’s next?
I feel really proud to have been offered a full time role at Arkom. The role is front-end web developer, integrating websites with backend systems and our in-house Content Management System (CMS), creating custom frameworks for responsive web design and building websites from small to medium sized Charites and companies.

So life isn’t all work and no play, what are your hobbies and interests?
No you definitely need a healthy work life balance and outside of work it may involve a bit of building website, ruby on rails and asp but I do plenty of other things such as playing the guitar (anything from alternative to metal and electronic music), a nice bit of relaxing fishing, I’m a bit of a gamer. I guess too that I never stop learning as I’m learning to drive, love learning new languages (foreign languages not programming) and I’m picking up on some old A levels I’m wanting to finish.

My experience here so far has been outstanding.
